Station Design Conference
-
For more than 20 years, DS Architecture’s Public Safety studio has designed environments that support the critical work of first responders and municipal agencies. Over those two decades, we have learned immensely from the clients, departments, and industry partners shaping this evolving field. Conferences like this remind us that design leadership extends far beyond the walls of our own projects.
-
One of our core values at DS Architecture is Commitment to Knowledge. This principle drives us to continuously learn, research, and share insights. Public safety design is evolving rapidly through advancements in technology, wellness initiatives, behavioral health awareness, contamination reduction, and changing community expectations. As architects, we have both an opportunity and an obligation to actively contribute to these conversations.
-
This year, our team had the privilege of presenting on public safety planning, operational readiness, and firefighter wellness at the Station Design Conference . It was an honor to engage with fire chiefs, police leaders, municipal officials, and fellow designers from across the country who share our goal: creating facilities that better support the people who serve our communities every day.
-
At DS Architecture, we believe thoughtful design directly impacts safety, health, mental wellbeing, recruitment, and long-term operational success. This mindset extends across every typology we serve, whether designing civic spaces, healthcare environments, workplaces, or adaptive reuse projects. Our commitment remains the same: continue learning, continue sharing knowledge, and continue elevating the profession through informed design leadership.
-
We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to these vital conversations and look forward to continuing them in the years ahead.

Welcome to the DS Architecture Team, Garrett Scott!
-
Garrett will be joining us for the summer working as our new Architectural Intern. Garrett is from Akron, Ohio, and is currently entering his fourth year at Kent State University in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design. He served as a course assistant for a second-year design studio and is engaged with student organizations within the college. He will be serving as the AIAS Kent President in the upcoming school year, as well. He worked as an architectural intern at Plus Detail, while also working evenings at Ken Stewart’s as a server last summer. He is truly passionate about architecture and the sense of community it creates. Garrett values the opportunity to collaborate with inspiring professionals, as well as to design alongside his friends at Kent.
