In the early days of the Russian-Ukrainian war, Kharkiv, the country’s second largest city, was turned into a warzone. On one side of the battlefield was the invading Russian army, on the other side, the defending Ukrainians, and caught in between them, was a zoo called Feldman Ecopark.

The Cleveland Vegan Society is excited to partner with Cleveland Cinemas to present two screenings of the powerful new documentary Checkpoint Zoo. While zoos can be a divisive issue in the vegan community, we can all appreciate the dedication of the brave people that risked their lives to save the animals trapped in the front lines after Russia invade Ukraine.
