Say hello to one of our facilitators for the “Making Everything Around me Beautiful” Retreat, Rev. Lauren Wright Pittman 🙌
Lauren Wright Pittman is an artist, graphic designer, visual exegete, and Founding Creative Partner of A Sanctified Art. Holding an M.Div., she brings together her passions for scripture, creativity, worship, and Creation Care through vibrant visual art.
Lauren creates spaces where others can engage scripture imaginatively through creative expression and practices like Visio Divina. Her artwork and design invite communities into deeper reflection, faithful conversation, and transformative encounters with the biblical story.

YOU are invited to join us for Three Rivers’ upcoming retreat, “Making Everything Around Me Beautiful” 🙌🙌🙌
This entirely free retreat begins on September 20th to 22nd and explores spirituality and creativity, where we’ll gather for rest, reflection, conversation, and inspiration as we consider God’s invitation to participate in making all things beautiful. Whether you’re a pastor, ministry leader, artist, or simply longing for space to reconnect with God and your calling, this retreat offers an opportunity to slow down, be renewed, and imagine how God is making everything around us—and within us—beautiful.
Throughout our time together, we’ll explore what it means to creatively tend to:
👉 Your life — your personal rhythms, family relationships, and daily habits
👉 Your calling/vocation — the work and purpose God has entrusted to you
👉 Your world — engaging injustice and systemic brokenness with hope and faithfulness
👉 Your neighborhood — building relational, kind, and meaningful connections in the places you live and serve
We are honored to welcome two facilitators to this retreat: Dr. Bill Wolf, Professor of Theology & Worship at Johnson University, and Rev. Lauren Wright Pittman, Founding Creative Partner of A Sanctified Art.
We have attached the registration link to our bio, but please message us if you have any questions about this retreat!

At Three Rivers Collaborative, we get the pleasure to work with many churches such as Clinton Chapel AME Zion Church located in Knoxville, TN!
Here are a few words from Clinton Chapel AME’s very own, Reverend Dr. John Butler:
“The Three Rivers’ Experience has helped me and has helped our church thru the exposure and training for some of our Clergy and Lay Leaders at the One Day Retreats, and especially at the gatherings with all the other Three Rivers churches.
Our leaders receive the opportunity to see what I see and hear what I hear as well as participate as I participate; then we discuss and decide together visions and plans together.
We as leaders then go back to our church and participate in a similar method to continue the ownership and participation effort.”

If Jesus replanted your church, what would he love about it and want to keep? What would he want to change? 🤔
Questions like these are just one part of what we do to help our partner churches reframe and reimagine, with the ultimate goal of becoming the Church God intended for creation.
Interested in learning more about what this could look like for your church? Message us — we’d love to connect and share more about what we feel God is calling us to do through Three Rivers Collaborative. 🙌
Why does Three Rivers Collaborative exist?
👉 It has to do with the story that churches are telling because to be clear, we love Jesus. And we love the church. In that order.
This video shares what our Executive Director, Mark Nelson, has to say about why we do what we do.

Reframe. Relearn. Release.
👉Three Rivers Collaborative exists because of a great love for Jesus and his church, and because of the belief that the church is absolutely central to God’s mission and intent for his creation.
As the world is ever changing, there is a great need for an honest assessment of what it means to play a crucial role in this mission to extend the Kingdom of God.
Many, if not most, churches today find themselves culturally and pandemically in need of a prophetic reimagining required to discern God’s call for flourishing as communities of faith. Because of our deep love for the church AND for those who want nothing to do with the church, we are convinced of this need to clarify mission and calling, to live well within this cultural moment, and to follow in the radical ways of Jesus.
