Sentient Horror

Eight years ago, we dropped our EP “The Crypts Below” featuring the opener “Enter Crypts Below” inspired by the short story “The Shadow Out of Time” by HP Lovecraft.

Do you prefer Lovecraftian cosmic horror or zombie/slasher film gore-inspired death metal lyrics?

For some reason, bluesy pentatonic leads seem to fit really well over mid-tempo OSDM/Death n Roll. I have to thank Bill Steer from Carcass for that inspiration, since it’s all over their records from Heartwork/Swansong and up.
