Second college visit from our summer Y.O.U. Program, Baldwin Wallace!

Past summer trip to Botanical Gardens .

Today's goal setting activity led teens to identify 3 goals, why they are important to them and steps to get there. Below are some of our teens goals and reasons why:

GOAL: Graduate from high school
- "It's important to me because I want to be successful in life and show must family that I'm not doubting myself"
-"because I want to show my family that I can make it out of high school"

GOAL: raise money for college
-"because I'm going to be the first person to go to college in my family"

GOAL: Graduate from college
- "I want to be the first one out of my family to graduate"

GOAL: climb a mountain
-"because I am afraid of heights"

GOAL: raise money for people with diabetes
-"this goal is important to me because I don't think there is enough money being raised"

GOAL: Become a secret service agent
-"so I can make enough money to take care of me and my family"

GOAL: move to a different neighborhood
-"I want my sister and brother to be safe"

GOAL: become a professional athlete
-"I want to take care of my family in the future"
-"so I can fulfill my dream since I was a kid and help take care of my family"

GOAL: help kids with special needs
-"because I like working with kids and want to help ones that need more because of their special needs"

How amazing that our teens are often formulating their goals around helping those around them from family to kids to people suffering from illnesses they want the cure discovered for. Additionally their goals show they want to overcome fears and doubt and prove that they are capable ... Mainly capable of what has not been done by the people closest to them like graduate from HS or College.
