National Robotics League

What better testament to the mission of the National Robotics League and AWT RoboBots:

"Last evening Scott Ray (Short Run Production Machine Products) and myself attended Career Night at A-Tech in the Precision Machining Class. Scott and I along with some other machine shop owners are advisors to this class. The evening was open for sophomores who are considering a career in technical education to attend the machining lab and learn a little about it. We were completely delighted to have 9 students accompanied by their parent or parents attend the event. This is more than there have been in past years. Ron Maurer (Precision Machining Instructor) along with 6 of his Seniors had different machines set up and gave demonstrations. The most popular demo was last year’s Robobot being run around in the test cage! The popularity of this machining class is picking up – primarily because of one reason – ROBOBOTS. The word is spreading that the Seniors get to build this and compete. The parents in attendance were completely in awe that high school seniors could build something like this and were impressed with the lab.

Wanted to share this with you and thank You for your vision in getting this competition started – as it is truly making a difference in getting youth interested in a career in machining."
