After more than 40 years of vacancy, a new chapter has officially begun at Warner & Swasey.

Last week, we joined residents, partners, elected officials, and community leaders to celebrate the groundbreaking of one of Cleveland's most significant historic redevelopment projects.

The Warner & Swasey redevelopment will transform this landmark building into 112 affordable apartments for seniors and families in Phase I, with additional housing and commercial space planned in a future phase. More than a building restoration, this project represents years of collaboration, persistence, and a shared commitment to preserving Cleveland's history while creating opportunity for future generations.

We were honored to receive recognitions from Senator Nickie Antonio
and County Executive Chris Ronayne acknowledging the significance of this milestone and the many partners who helped make it possible.

As Mayor Justin M. Bibb shared during the ceremony:
"This project here at the Warner & Swasey building represents the largest affordable housing investment in the city's history. This building has been sitting vacant for 41 years, since 1985. So it's a big deal to get this project across the finish line."

Thank you to Pennrose, our public and private partners, community advocates, former employees and their families, and everyone who believed in the future of Warner & Swasey.
