Clive Police Case #26-00760
DATE: 07/14/2026
RELEASED BY: Chief Mark Rehberg [email protected] 515-867-5015
Clive, Iowa – This afternoon, July 14th, 2026, an arrest was made in the investigation of a shooting at Campbell Park, 12385 Woodlands Parkway, which occurred on June 4th, 2026, at about 11:30 pm.
During that shooting, a male victim, 18-year-old, Jaivon Jefferson of Des Moines and a 17-year-old female were both struck by gunfire. Both of those victims have been treated and released from the hospital. Jefferson, who had significant injuries, was hospitalized for an extended period.
During the investigation, it was determined that a large group of young adults and juveniles attended a party in the park that was promoted through social media. An altercation took place, at which time 21-year-old Abdalla Hasan of Des Moines, produced a handgun and fired shots into the car that both victims were sitting in.
Hasan has been charged with one count of Attempted Murder, a Class B Felony. He was booked at the Clive Jail and transported to the Polk County jail to be held for arraignment.
“This has been a long investigation, and it took the courage of others to finally come forward and provide information on what had occurred,” stated Clive Chief of Police Mark Rehberg. “At no time did the detective’s working this case, give up or stop searching for witnesses and leads. As we know, there is always someone who sees something critical. That was what it took for this case to progress into an arrest today. These same detectives are also continuing to follow-up on other leads and information and will file additional charges as appropriate,” he continued.
More information will be released as it becomes available. The Clive Police Department was assisted in this investigation by the Polk County Attorney’s Office. An arrest is merely an accusation and not an indication of guilt.
