My grand kids are currently ages 20, 14, 13, 12, and 10. For each of them this last year, we had some very good conversations about money, chores, allowances, and dreams. Then I showed them each their savings accounts. Also, I told them that it wasn't going to be free---they have to earn it.

What would your 18 year old do when they receive a $3,000 gift? Would they blow it on a "Pizza Party"...."Go on a frivolous shopping spree"...."Buy a fixer-upper car"? NOT MY GRAND KIDS!
