The White House will shine blue tonight on National Peace Officers Memorial Day. Please remember to hang your flags at half-staff in honor of the law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty.

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives, or been disabled, in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

Modern Family actor teams up with KHP to promote driving safety Modern Family actor, Eric Stonestreet teamed up with Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper, Ben Gardner, for some fun. More importantly, they delivered driving safety reminders. This is in partnership with the Teen Traffic Safety Conference put on by SAFE Kansas.
