Love this back patio. If you stepped back and looked up at the patio, you're probably 4' lower so we had to bring in two loads of fill to achieve our height and tapered the edge way out, not only for aestetics but safety. If you are curious why that side is so thick it is because we may install steps in the future and we wanted a nice monolithic edge to butt our stairs up to but we will grade our dirt for now as usual. We added some ten gauge wire, put some pins in the existing and ran our drain under the slab with the proper parts and it looks and works great. Finished it off with a medium/light broom finish and sharp cut joints for a 🍬sweet🍬 final result. We also have two more loads of fill that will finish going along the house and across the back. We will grade those out and finish it off with a hard rake! Please see the video in comments. Thanks for looking!
