A huge thank you to Justin Shaw with HMH Engineering and Chris Bosley with the City of Coeur d'Alene for giving the SEEP committee a tour of the recently-completed stormwater project near East Tubbs Hill!

Funded through Governor Brad Little's Leading Idaho Initiative for Coeur d'Alene Lake, this is one of the City's many efforts under its Stormwater Outfall Volume Reduction Program. This particular project captures stormwater runoff from approximately 76 acres of residential area and redirects it into a treatment system instead of discharging directly to the lake, which is where it used to go.

This design utilizes a series of drywell structures that are surrounded by filter fabric and a sand/compost filtering media that the stormwater percolates through before entering groundwater in the area.
