Mitten State Sheep and Wool

Combed top is already a beautiful fiber preparation, but after dyeing it can become a little more compact.

A simple pass through the pindrafter opens the fiber back up and drafts it into a nice, lofty prep that’s ready for the spinning wheel.

It’s a small step, but one of my favorite transformations in the mill 🐑

Running a wool mill all day…
Then voluntarily sitting down to spin more wool.
Fiber people will understand.

Not every fleece needs a trip to the dye pot.
This Romney roving is beautiful exactly as it is.
