A good coach will see what others can’t see and say what others can’t say in regards to:
your vision
your performance
your attitude
Others around haven’t been trained to see what a coach sees…
Most people only see fruits,
coaches see the roots.
Lag measures (results), obvious.
Lead measures (inputs), not so obvious.

Now, some people see it but they can’t say it because
They’re just too dang nice
They fear being judged by you
They don’t want to hurt your feelings
They’re preoccupied with their own challenges
They have something tangible to lose
They overthink what words to say
They think you already know
It doesn’t really matter why, the impact is the same.
People around you withhold the truth from you.
It seems in their best interest to do so.
A coach, well, his or her interest should be all about helping you win.
We figure a temporary encroachment on your feelings is worth it to become better.

You need someone to hold the mirror up
You need someone to call out your blind spots
You need someone to be your wingman
That someone might be a coach like me.

What I’ve learned is—people pay for:
