We're building something we're proud of — and it's down to the wire.

Cottage Court on Costilla is a community of 14 small, attractive, attainable homes on an underused lot just east of downtown — exactly the walkable, neighborhood-scale housing Colorado Springs keeps saying it needs more of.

This Wednesday, June 10, it goes before the City Planning Commission, and one issue is getting all the attention: parking. These homes sit on a walkable block with plenty of on-street parking already out front, so we've asked the City for some common-sense flexibility — to count that existing parking instead of paving over yards and green space for spots that won't get used.

Here's the hard part: the City has told us several people are lined up to speak against this project — and so far, not one voice of support has been filed. If we want more homes like these in our city, we have to show up and say so.
