Beware of anyone who claims to have a word from God that cannot be tested by the Word of God. God has given us an unchanging standard in the sixty-six books of Scripture. Every sermon, every teacher, and every ministry must be measured against the Bible. Scripture alone is our final authority, and it is our sure foundation through every hardship.
Looking to man is not the answer. Every preacher, pastor, and teacher needs Christ just as much as you do. No one can offer greater wisdom than what God has already revealed in His Word. Fill your mind with the promises of Scripture. Pray. Worship Christ. Draw near to Him.
Times of testing reveal what has always been in our hearts. There is no benefit in pretending before others. God is far more concerned with who we are in private than with the image we project in public. He desires truth in the inward parts, not religious performance.
I believe God is using this season to awaken His church. He is calling His people back to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We can either answer that call in the quiet place or ignore it and long for a return to business as usual. Don’t waste this opportunity. Let this season deepen your walk with Christ.
The church does not need more performance. It needs repentance, holiness, and a renewed love for Christ. Ministry was never meant to be about maintaining an audience or building a platform. It has always been about making disciples and proclaiming the Gospel.
The internet has made it possible for believers to hear faithful preaching from around the world. That is both a blessing and a responsibility. Test every message by Scripture. Never give any preacher or ministry an authority that belongs to God’s Word alone.
Jesus warned against lukewarmness. We should reject any version of Christianity that is comfortable with compromise and instead pursue wholehearted devotion to Christ. Love sinners with the compassion of Jesus, but also hold the church accountable to the truth of God’s Word. Biblical love never separates itself from biblical truth.
Much of the New Testament was written to defend the Gospel against false teachers and false doctrine. That responsibility has not changed. We must contend for the faith with humility, courage, and love, refusing both false unity that ignores truth and harshness that lacks the love of Christ.
May our generation be set ablaze with a passion for Jesus Christ, unwavering in truth, overflowing with grace, and faithful to the Gospel until He returns.
