🍗 Do you remember Dott's Chicken Shack?
Located at 1930 South Nevada Avenue...Dott's Chicken Shack was a Colorado Springs favorite throughout the 1950s and 1960s. It was owned by local businessman Orris Dott.

For local residents, it was a place to make memories of family dinners, enjoy great fried chicken, and live in a different era of Colorado Springs.

* But hey, as of a couple years ago...Colorado Springs has a "Daddy's Chicken Shack." Have you tried it? Any good?

🦌The First Animals Have Been Filmed Crossing the World's Largest Wildlife Overpass (elk)...located near Greenland, Colorado. A link to the video and more info will be in each picture description.

According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, the overpass "connects 39,000 acres of big game habitat (Douglas County Land Conservancy) to more than one million acres of the Pike National Forest." The $15 million project spans 6 lanes of traffic and is expected to decrease vehicle/animal crashes by 90% in the area. Prior to the overpass there was approximately one animal related accident every day in that corridor.

🚜 OPEN! Cool Find in Palmer Lake - Tovah Homestead Self-Service Farm Stand!🙂 What an amazing concept...making local, farm fresh goods easily accessible to the community...and anyone driving by!

I first noticed the roadside stand in 2025 on my way to hike the Palmer Lake Reservoir Trail. Since I was going for a hike there again today, I went ahead and stopped by. They were open and stocked! I picked up an amazing loaf of apple/zucchini/pecan bread and some apple-cinnamon syrup.😋
