Seals of the Day: Today, we had the pleasure of cutting some VEE-Packs for a customer. The first one is an HPU/POM 1-3-1 with both male and female adapters. The second is the same but made entirely of urethane.

Todays cut was a spring loaded seal!
When a spring-energized seal is installed into a cavity of an application, it is subjected to radial compression. This spring load energizes the lips, forcing them against the gland walls to create an extremely resilient leak-tight barrier. The inherent radial tension continuously maintains a highly reliable seal from installation onwards, meaning no system pressure is required for decent sealing efficiency.
