Hearing other artists share their stories is the best way to be inspired to get back to work on your own ideas. Thanks and for the much needed inspiration! Here's an old character mock up from a (still) work-in-progress graphic novel. Now, back to the drawing board.
It's been a while since I've shared anything because we've been busy on a new animated music video for ! Here's a character WIP that was particularly challenging for me. Since I don't have actual wolves to study, I referred about two dozen videos of wolves howling from different angles to get the head turn the way I wanted it. A lot of folks talk about how long the animation process takes, and it's true - sometimes you spend 3 days working on what ends up being 3 seconds of video. I also tend to spend many hours researching reference material because I love being inspired by real people, places and creatures. This particular character will end up being composited into a scene with many moving parts. Hope you enjoy the sneak peek!
We had a blast collaborating with Peace Frame Productions on the CoMo Shorts bumpers this year! The showcase took place in January, but Ragtag Cinema is hosting a screening on twitch.tv Tuesday 4/28/20. Be sure to join in at 7pm for a special pre-show introduction and 7:30pm for the showcase. There will be a live filmmaker Q&A after the program. Rebroadcast date: Thursday 4/30/30: 7pm preshow | 7:30pm film. This showcase contains adult themes, simulated violence and sexual content - trigger warnings are included before each short film.
