On April 30, we attended Farmworker Justice’s “Connecting Partners for a Stronger U.S. Food System – Southeast Regional Convening,” where one message stood out clearly: farmworkers are essential to our food system, yet they are too often excluded from conversations about hunger and food insecurity. The people who plant, harvest, and sustain our food supply deserve to be included in the solutions and supported as a vital part of a resilient food system.

The conversations surrounding workforce stability, food access, collaboration, and community impact were thoughtful, impactful, and timely. We left feeling inspired by the collective dedication to creating change and optimistic about what can happen when organizations, advocates, and communities work together toward a shared goal.

El 30 de abril asistimos al evento “Connecting Partners for a Stronger U.S. Food System – Southeast Regional Convening” de Farmworker Justice. Un mensaje importante fue que los trabajadores agrícolas son esenciales para nuestro sistema de alimentos, pero muchas veces no se les incluye en las conversaciones sobre el hambre y la inseguridad alimentaria. Las personas que siembran y cosechan nuestros alimentos deben ser parte de las soluciones y recibir apoyo.

Las conversaciones sobre el trabajo, el acceso a alimentos, la colaboración y el impacto en la comunidad fueron importantes y oportunas. Salimos inspirados por el compromiso de trabajar juntos y con esperanza sobre lo que se puede lograr cuando organizaciones y comunidades colaboran.

Hoy honramos y reconocemos a los trabajadores agrícolas que hacen posible gran parte de nuestra vida diaria. En el Día de los Trabajadores Agrícolas, queremos darles las gracias por su sacrificio, su arduo trabajo y su dedicación.

Desde largas horas en el campo hasta trabajar en todo tipo de condiciones, su esfuerzo no pasa desapercibido. Gracias a ustedes, nuestras familias se alimentan y las comunidades se mantienen.

Estamos profundamente agradecidos por todo lo que hacen. Su fuerza, resiliencia y compromiso merecen reconocimiento todos los días.
