"I always look forward to exploring small scale works as it provides an opportunity to “play” in
the studio with my handmade paper scraps left over from other projects. For me, play provides
new insights to familiar themes and subject matter. Play also suggests new ways of approaching
materials and ideas. It generates excitement and leads to new directions in my work such as the
small portraits for this show."
