1️⃣. Copper IUD (e.g., Paragard)
Failure rate: 0.8% (8 out of 1,000 people may become pregnant in the first year of use)
2️⃣. Hormonal IUDs (e.g., Mirena, Liletta, Kyleena, Skyla)
Failure rate: Ranges from 0.1% to 0.4% depending on the brand:
-Mirena/Liletta: ~0.2%
-Kyleena: ~0.2–0.4%
-Skyla: ~0.4%

IUDs are over 99% effective, making them one of the most reliable forms of reversible contraception.

𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐫, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐮𝐞 𝐭𝐨:
📌Expulsion (IUD falls out partially or completely, often unnoticed)
📌Improper placement
📌Insertion during undetected early pregnancy
📌Very rare perforation

This baby was born with their mothers IUD on their bum. It was sticking due to the vernix.
