I don’t make music for streams. I make it so my kids have something to sing when I’m gone.

One day my daughter Grace heard my song come on — and she started dancing. Now that hit different.

I wanted to make music for my children that sounds dope AND points them back to Christ. 843 is for the kingdom. For my kids. For anybody who needs to know that God is intentional.

I’ll be honest with you — I needed this day.

My wife reminded me that I’m always there for everybody else. And she was right. But somewhere in the middle of showing up for everyone else… I forgot to show up for myself.

Someone reminded me — you can’t pour from an empty vessel.

So today I walked. Took some pictures. Breathed. And spent time with God.

And it hit me — the album I’ve been working on? 843? The sum of those numbers is 15. And 15 means rest. God literally named this season before I even knew I needed it.

Maybe this is for somebody else too. Maybe you’ve been pouring so much that you don’t even realize how empty you’ve gotten.

It’s okay to stop. It’s okay to breathe. Rest isn’t quitting — it’s preparation. God’s still working even when you’re not.
