A letter from our Owner, Tim Thompson:
"I was saddened to hear that George Thomas passed away on New Year’s.

George was a longtime force in the restoration world here in Columbus, spanning decades. He started his business just a year or so after I started mine—47 years ago—and his firm, George Thomas Contracting, quite literally helped thousands of families and business owners recover from tragic property losses. George always did things the right way, ethically and professionally. He also served our community for many years on the Columbus building licensing board.

Those early days of restoration were different—in the best way. Contractors talked to one another. We helped each other. We shared best practices, lessons learned from doing things right, and even from the mistakes we made along the way. There was a group of owners who got together monthly for happy hour, simply to talk shop and mentor one another. If I ever needed another set of ears or some honest advice, I could always count on George.

When George closed his business about 10 years ago, it was a sad day for me. Yes, he was a competitor—but more importantly, he was a colleague and a friend. I knew then that the landscape of restoration contracting locally was changing, and that a hole had opened up in our small community.

I will miss George Thomas.

My thoughts are with his family and all those whose lives he touched.
