Honoring Juneteenth: A celebration of freedom

Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when Major General Gordon Granger ordered the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas at the end of the American Civil War.

In observance of this Federal Holiday, all FMWR Columbus operations are closed, except for Eagle Eye Golf Course. The Fitness Center will also be closed on Saturday, June 20.

You're invited to beat the summer heat and enjoy some fantastic fun at our upcoming Popsicle Dash! 🌞 This free event is perfect for everyone, whether you're an avid runner or prefer a leisurely stroll. The dash kicks off on Wednesday, July 15, at 4:00 PM at the FMWR Fitness Center.

Choose your challenge with either a 1-mile or 5K route, and remember, walkers are always welcome! We'll have plenty to make your experience enjoyable, including free popsicles to keep you cool, and complimentary snacks and water to keep you energized. Plus, we'll be giving out awards to our top finishers!
