Changing lives and connecting people, one recipe at a time.

Hi Kulishana fans-
Recently something very upsetting came to my attention, and I feel that it is worth sharing:
Several years ago the Kulishana team visited an non-profit in rural Haiti called Second Mile Haiti. We were so impressed with this organization's ingenuity in creating sustainable change- not only do they treat children with severe acute malnutrition throughout the surrounding area, they also offer business, literacy, and home gardening classes to mothers as their children recover.
The founders of this organization- Jenn Schenk and Amy Syres- have dedicated their lives to this work and, needless to say, they are two very compassionate and hardworking people.
Jenn and Amy recently opened up about something very personal. Though their families, friends, staff, and local partners all knew, some people were unaware of an important piece of their identities. The love and commitment Jenn and Amy display for Second Mile are but a reflection of that which they share for one another. Jenn and Amy are getting married later this year. For many, this is wonderful news, as the relationship these two share is what are made of. However, some folks (and organizations) have decided that the LOVE shared between these two beautiful women is reason to pull their financial support of Second Mile Haiti.
These people's ignorance is now hurting the children and families who benefit from the wonderful programming run by Second Mile Haiti.
Please join me in supporting this organization and the amazing work they continue to do. Show the staff and families of Second Mile Haiti that you are (as Jenn put so perfectly) "People who are inspired by the amazing work being done for families in Haiti. People who believe in love above all else."
