Do you know a high school woman with a passion for computing and technology? Are you an educator who encourages and supports girls in STEM?
For the ninth year in a row, KeyBank is sponsoring the Ohio Aspirations in Computing Award, given to Ohio high school women who demonstrate outstanding computing and IT aptitude, proven leadership ability, excellent academic performance and plans for post-secondary education. It is one way to showcase and increase women’s meaningful participation in computing and technology.
Any Ohio high school woman in grades 9 through 12 is eligible and can apply now through 11:59 p.m. ET on Nov. 5.
In addition, the Ohio Aspirations in Computing Educator Award will be given to outstanding educators who play a pivotal role in encouraging young women to explore their interest in computing and technology. Educators who have endorsed an applicant by Nov. 11 for the 2021 Aspirations in Computing Award are eligible, including teachers, counselors, administrators and mentors. Apply Oct. 1 through Dec. 6.
Student and educator award winners will be honored at a recognition event in spring of 2022. Last year, we honored 54 high school women and four STEM educators from across Ohio.
Please share the attached award information to the high school women in your lives who are interested in technology, as well as the high schools you partner with on a regular basis. The student application process is open until 11:59 p.m. ET on Nov. 5. For more information and the application, visit the Aspirations in Computing website.
