SOS Whitehall recently had a special visit from the Whitehall Fire Station!
The visit gave the kids a chance to meet local firefighters, learn about fire safety, and check out some of the tools and equipment used to help keep the community safe. One of the highlights was getting to hang out on a fire truck and see it up close.
A big thank you to the Whitehall Fire Station team for stopping by SOS Whitehall and making the visit such a fun, memorable, and educational experience.

When it comes to your child’s development, the hands-on connection they make with their therapist changes everything.
We believe that the highest standard of care requires a genuine, face-to-face relationship. That is why our centers are committed to providing only physically present Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).
While virtual appointments have become common elsewhere, being in the same room allows for a level of deeply engaged, personalized ABA, Speech, and Occupational therapy that simply cannot be replicated through a screen. It is all about delivering the unmatched dedication your child deserves.
As a parent, what is the single most important quality you look for when choosing a therapy provider for your child? We would love to hear your perspective and experiences in the comments below! 👇
Know a family currently navigating their therapy journey?
Send this post to them privately via Messenger to share what a difference a truly present team can make.

There is a massive misconception that ABA therapy is just about forcing a child to act in certain ways, like compliance training.
The reality? Authentic, high-quality support looks completely different.
👇 (Click and watch this short to uncover the truth about modern care)
True child-led Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) isn’t about making a neurodivergent child change who they are to fit a mold. When done correctly, it focuses entirely on the unique needs, strengths, and goals of the individual.
Have a look at what's foundational for our Center:
- Functional Communication: Giving children the tools to express their thoughts, choices, and boundaries effectively.
- Real-World Independence: Shifting away from rigid desk tasks and focusing on meaningful, everyday life skills.
- Positive Reinforcement: Utilizing natural learning principles, consistency, and encouragement to foster lasting progress.
By focusing on how children naturally learn, we can build confidence and set up a supportive foundation where unique minds can truly thrive on their own terms.
🗣️ Let's start a conversation: How do you think we can continue to advocate for compassionate, individualized approaches in early intervention? Share your perspectives and experiences below!

Myths on ABA Therapy: The Truth About Autism Support Is ABA therapy just compliance training? We debunk the biggest myth about behavioral therapy and show you what autism support actually looks like behind clos...
Leaving your vulnerable child in someone else's care is one of the most terrifying steps a parent can take. Especially if they cannot tell you how their day went.
For parents of children on the spectrum, the thought of dropping off their child at a new facility can be completely nerve-wracking. Historically, a lot of behavioral therapy has happened behind closed doors, leaving parents anxious and completely in the dark.
We believe that trust should never require blind faith.
As you will hear from the parents and staff in this video, the standard of care has to include absolute peace of mind. At Success On The Spectrum, there is no such thing as a "closed door."
We built our centers on a foundation of 100% transparency. This means:
🔹 Parents are welcome to walk in and observe at any time—no appointment necessary.
🔹 Cameras are equipped in every single room of the facility.
🔹 You never have to guess what is happening behind the scenes.
Your child’s safety, and your peace of mind, are always the number one priority. You deserve to see the progress, the joy, and the care your child is receiving firsthand.
👇 Let’s talk about building trust:
When you were first looking for care or educational programs for your child, what was the biggest factor that helped ease your anxiety?
Share your journey in the comments—your experience could bring a lot of comfort to a new parent navigating this for the first time!

This week, SOS Whitehall came together for our first quarterly team-building event with a fun night of bowling and time spent together outside of the clinic. The event gave staff a chance to connect off the clock while continuing to strengthen the positive culture that helps keep our team moving in the same direction.
We’re excited to keep creating opportunities throughout the year that bring our team closer together.
We greatly appreciate the work our team members do each day.
Today at SOS Whitehall, we’re shining a lighthouse on National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day.
Every child deserves calm waters, a safe harbor, and a crew that supports them through every wave life may bring. By leading with compassion, understanding, and encouragement, we can help children navigate challenges and build confidence for the journey ahead.
Together, let’s keep creating spaces where every child feels seen, supported, and empowered to set sail and navigate toward a brighter future.

Today we’re celebrating both World BCBA and RBT Day at SOS Whitehall. A time to recognize the impact behavior analysts make every single day.
We’d like to spotlight Karena Johnson for her leadership, expertise, and dedication to helping individuals grow, learn, and chart their own course toward success—backed by a journey that began in 2013 as an in-home provider, continued as an RBT in 2020, and led her to become a BCBA in 2023.
Karena has brought her passion into the clinic setting, and we’re proud to celebrate her recent promotion to Lead BCBA—a well-earned recognition of the impact she makes every day.
We also want to recognize the amazing Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) here at SOS Whitehall. You are the heart of the work—showing up each day with compassion and commitment to supporting every client you serve.
