Iran launched missile strikes on Jordan, Bahrain and Kuwait on Wednesday in a sharp escalation after a US helicopter was downed near the Strait of Hormuz.

Jordan and Bahrain said their air defences intercepted incoming missiles aimed at Azraq and other sites. Kuwait reported engaging hostile aerial targets.

The IRGC claimed it struck military targets including an air base and a US command centre, while US Central Command said it had carried out precision strikes on Iranian air‑defence and radar sites in self‑defence.

The United States has launched fresh strikes on Iran after a US Army Apache helicopter was downed over the Strait of Hormuz.

While Washington has blamed Tehran for the incident, Iran has denied responsibility, with a senior Iranian official insisting the helicopter was not deliberately targeted.
