💙 Tomorrow is the first Sensory Friendly Hour at the Columbus-Lowndes Public Library System! 💙

Beginning Tuesday, June 16th, we're introducing a weekly Sensory Friendly Hour every Tuesday morning from 8:00am to 9:00am at our Downtown Library.

Libraries today are full of activity, programs, conversations, and community connections. While that's something we love, we also recognize that some individuals and families with sensory sensitivities or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) may benefit from a quieter, lower-stimulation environment.

After conversations with local parents and community members, we're excited to begin this trial initiative to help make the library even more welcoming and accessible for everyone.

During Sensory Friendly Hour, we'll keep sounds and overall noise levels throughout the building as calm as possible. The library will remain open to all visitors, and we simply ask everyone to help us maintain a peaceful environment during this hour.

We are excited to see how this grows and look forward to continuing to explore ways to better serve all members of our community.
