We are a week out from the Statewide Emergency Notification Test. The Commerce Police Department would like to remind you on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the request of the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), a statewide test of emergency alerting systems will occur between 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM. As part of this drill, local jurisdictions across Texas will test systems used to notify the public during emergencies. Depending on the jurisdiction you are in at the time of test, you may receive a test alert on your mobile phone and/or hear outdoor warning sirens. The City of Commerce will activate its weather sirens as well as send messages through our Hyper Reach emergency notification system at 10:00 AM. Should hazardous weather be present in our area during the test window, the weather sirens will not activate and will be tested by other means.
