It’s no secret I create content for installation and restoration contractors, manufacturers, distributors, etc, in the stone and tile industry, but over the past year I’ve expanded my knowledge to include the auto body repair industry. Today and tomorrow I’m excited to be attending the Southeast Collision Conference!

I’ve run completely original content through AI detection and had it flagged. Concise. Well-organized. Clear. Well, it must be AI! 😝

An AI detector just flagged the 1776 Declaration of Independence as AI-written.🤔

A Reddit user uploaded the original U.S. Declaration of Independence to an AI-detection tool, and the system incorrectly labeled the historic document as being 99.99% generated by artificial intelligence.

The incident quickly gained attention online and renewed concerns about the reliability of AI-detection systems, especially when analyzing historical or pre-digital texts.

Now, I don’t personally ever rely on ChatGPT (or other AI engines) for medical research. But I know of patience and leaders and other people who do; people come to me and to the public with “ evidence” that they found from a search in ChatGPT. So I wanted to test drive that specifically, myself. While I didn’t expect it to be very good, I did not expect it to be THIS bad. It was eye-opening - it DOUBLED and TRIPLED down on that incorrect information - ALL while sending links and information that looked very official, very legitimate. The citations followed citation standards perfectly. They were just…we..totally hallucinated. Had I not insisted on seeing the original, primary research myself (which I always do), I would never have known. My conclusion: I will not use or rely on ChatGPT (or other AI engines) for my full research. Be careful where you get your information, and be careful who you trust and where they get THEIR research.
