Two Dye For

Remember those who won’t be at the table this year! Share memories of them and make even more with those that are still here. We won’t have them forever. As tomorrow is never promised.

10 years ago, I was leaving to spend thanksgiving with my best friend in San Antonio.
I hugged my dad for the last time. Told him I loved him and would see him when he got back from the job he was leaving for, in Nevada.
You would have to know my dad but when I said those last words to him, his were, “next time you see me I may be in a coffin!” Followed by his little snicker. I can still hear it and see his belly jiggle.
I laughed it off and said, “that’s not funny daddy!! I love you!”
Little did we know, was right.
Never thought it would affect me the way it has. It never gets easier when I think about him and how I’ll never get to hear that snicker or wrap my arms around him as far as they’ll reach.
I miss being taught how to cook with him. I miss him picking on me for his own entertainment and more than anything, I wish he could have the man that makes his daughter happier than she’s ever been! And his new grandson 💔 Ace our hearts!
