Yesterday, B-Shift participated in a training exercise using the Texas A&M Forest Service Simulation Table to analyze the response efforts associated with the Smokehouse Creek Fire and Windy Deuce Fire. Crews worked through fire behavior, resource deployment, changing weather conditions, and tactical decision making to better understand the complexities of large-scale wildland incidents.

Training opportunities like this allow our personnel to learn from real-world events, strengthen their incident management skills, and prepare for the challenges that may arise both within our community and through mutual aid responses across the state.

We appreciate the Texas A&M Forest Service for providing valuable training resources that help ensure our firefighters remain ready to respond when called upon!
