Today we took Nicole Blevins from The Sun News out on the Waccamaw to document just how low the river has become during this drought. Upstream of the Danny Knight Boating Facility (Red Bluff Landing), water levels have dropped enough to expose sandbars, stumps, and other hazards that are normally well below the surface. These conditions make navigation tricky, and we’re encouraging all boaters to slow down, stay aware, and use extra caution until the river recovers.

We’re proud to share that our P*e Dee-Lynches Riverkeeper, Dylan Coleman, was recently recognized with the Environmental Award from Woodmen of the World.

If you’ve met Dylan, you know how much he cares about our rivers and the people who depend on them. Whether he’s out collecting water samples, helping with cleanups, speaking to community groups, or responding to pollution concerns, he puts his heart into protecting the waterways of the Great P*e Dee, Little P*e Dee and Lynches Rivers.

This award reflects the hard work and dedication he brings to the job, and we couldn’t be more proud to have him on our team.

Please join us in congratulating Dylan on this well-deserved recognition!
