Mexican sunflowers are sprouting up.zinnias are exploding now that I started cutting them. I was able to cut some marigolds from my compost bin, soaked in water for a week and now they got some great roots so let’s see how they do in the ground.

I had to buy 12 new bamboo yard stakes today due to the storms constantly bending over and warping my plains and lance-leaved coreopsis. And just like that, bees started swarming in like crazy. Zinnias are slowly popping up again and I finally put down the rest of the w**d barrier with some fresh Lomi compost underneath. I also discovered some strawberries returning, a random sunflower and a very pretty purple rocket larkspur. I think I’ll lay off the veggies this year and just make this a pollinator power house. Especially a purple coneflower from Carrie Floyd and some special milkw**d from the National Arbor Day Foundation🦋 🐝

Lots of zinnias and wild flowers started springing up this year. Felt good to go out this weekend to replace some garden bed liner, throw away some dead stuff and install a new water timer. I’m so old now this is one of the most exciting things of my week.
