4-H Heifer Show

Teddy Kain and Eden Carvalho represented Horry County in the 4-H Heifer Project. Eden
placed 2nd in confirmation.

With over 200 Jerseys from 7 different states, it’s believed to be the largest show in the state, along with hundreds of additional heifers representing four different breeds.

We are so proud of these two and all their hard work!

We are beyond proud to share that Ivy Prince was selected by National 4-H to deliver the welcome address at the 4-H Ignite Conference in Washington, D.C. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Ivy spoke in front of over 2,000 attendees from across the country. What an incredible opportunity and well deserved recognition of her leadership and hard work! πŸ’šπŸ€

Horry County 4-H teams had an outstanding showing recently at the 2026 South Carolina 4-H Statewide Engineering Challenge held in Columbia, with over 300 participants representing 23 counties.

In the Rocketry competition, two Horry County senior teams earned 2nd and 3rd place after successfully designing, building, and presenting rockets under challenging windy conditions. Their performance showcased strong knowledge in design, aerodynamics, and teamwork.

A Horry County junior team also excelled in the Mystery Challenge, earning 2nd place out of 30 teams with their weight-bearing boat design.

During the afternoon events, one Horry County senior team placed 4th in the Mystery Aircraft Challenge, building a functional aircraft with limited materials in just 30 minutes. Junior Horry County members competed in Bridge Building and secured 3rd place out of 30 teams despite a new testing format.

Braden Jarczynski represented Horry County in the Visual Arts category, earning 3rd place for his AI-generated design focused on patterns in nature.

Brayden Lorey got 1st place in photography and 1st in AI, Heinz Driggers received 3rd place photography and Ivy Prince placed 3rd in painting and 3rd in AI art.

Overall, Horry County 4-H youth demonstrated exceptional skill, creativity, and sportsmanship throughout the day. The Horry County 4-H program is incredibly proud of their hard work and accomplishments.
