Today we did community care by maintaining rain gardens in the Bucksport community! These gardens help elderly and disabled residents address issues of localized flooding around their homes.

The Wall Boardroom was packed for our virtual presentation on the q***r history of the purse! Fashion is more than trivial- it is a way we send messages about who we are and what communities we belong to!

Another great day in the field doing meaningful work with the Bucksport community at the Eddy Lake Cemetery. Students, professors, and community members worked together to map cemetery boundaries, assist with GPR, and identify additional grave sites. Students who participated said it was a powerful and eye-opening experience. .bsa

This week faculty and students from Sociology and Anthropology and students from the Black Student Association worked with the Bucksport community to prepare the grounds at the historic Eddy Lake Slave Cemetery for a ground penetrating radar analysis (GPR). The GPR analysis will help determine the boundaries of the cemetery and locate additional gravesites. We will be back on site this weekend for students to get more hands on experience while supporting our local communities. We are grateful for funding from a CCU Sustainability Grant to support this incredible opportunity! .bsa

Strong turnout and great conversation for our Community Organizing, Action, and Advocacy panel on October 15! We are thrilled to have hosted this slate of experienced and informative panelists from non-partisan organizations who uplift and empower people from all walks of life.
