If you've ever wanted to hold a piece of genuine 15th-century English history, this is about as close as it gets without breaking into the Royal Armouries.
The Windlass IX.144 Falchion is a hand-forged replica of the original sword in the Royal Armouries Collection, a late medieval English infantry hanger carried by billmen and archers during the Wars of the Roses. Think Towton. Think Bosworth. This is what those men carried into battle.
What makes this piece special isn't just the provenance, it's the engineering. The S-curve knuckle bow and reverse guard were purpose-built for bare hands or light gloves, not gauntlets. The hollow-ground blade, narrow fuller, and distal taper make it remarkably light and fast for its era. At just under 2 lbs with a 27" blade, it handles like a dream.
1080 high carbon steel. Hand forged. Hardened to 52–54 Rockwell. Comes with a leather-covered wood sheath, brass chape, and certificate of authenticity.
