Life is Why! This year’s American Heart Walk means even more to me than ever before. Earlier this year, my beloved mother underwent open-heart surgery — a reminder of how precious every heartbeat truly is. Watching her strength and resilience has deepened my commitment to walk, give, and raise awareness for heart health.

I’m not just walking — I’m Heartwalking. I walk in honor of my mother’s courage, my brother who we lost too soon at 38 to a heart attack, and for every family — including my own — that has faced high blood pressure, strokes, cancer, or heart disease.

The Heart Walk isn’t just about crossing a finish line; it’s about taking steps toward a world free from cardiovascular disease and stroke. It’s about staying healthy for my children, encouraging others to make daily healthy choices, and supporting the research that saves lives.
