The Urban Ladybug Farm

While we are on the subject of working, I thought I should share more about my background. A fun fact that alot of you may not know is that when we started homesteading 13 years ago, it was during the same time I was working for Jamba Juice. Looking back, I think of 3 things, that I learned a lot, that I sacrificed a lot, and that I met so many life long friends along the way. My days can be long and hard as a small business owner, a farmer, a micro bakery owner, and holding down a corporate day job, while also raising 2 littles, but still, they don’t compare to the exhaustion after a 8 hour shift during a crazy day at Jamba, plus 2 hours of commuting and getting very little sleep each night. While going to school to get a degree that I’ll never end up using anyways.. It was so much work but SO much fun.

Fast forward to now, within my Agricultural Banking career, I have the privilege to work directly with our countries biggest farmers and ranchers everyday, some of which own very large & successful Farmstands - learning valuable tips directly from those who have been doing this for decades. I absolutely love my day job, while also trying to grow both a farm and business sustainably, so it’s okay that our growth is slow but steady.. And we are okay with my day-job supporting our businesses while they grow. But ultimately, yes of course, we would love nothing more than to be able to grow our farm business / Farmstand to my full-time gig one-day! Even if that’s in our retirement years. So much to be grateful for and so much to look forward to, newer or older followers here - thank you so much for following along and supporting our journey! ❤️
