Reach out to a local volunteer fire department today to see about breaking windows and squirting water in the house with your muddy boots on.

Every parent knows the daily struggle of trying to keep the house clean while a tiny human does their absolute best to wreck it. It’s hilarious how their biggest, wildest dreams are basically just things that would get them grounded for a week.

But behind the muddy boots and the mess, it really makes you think about how pure childhood is. They just want to save the day, be heroes, and have fun doing it. Time flies so fast. What’s the funniest "mess" your kid has ever made? Let me know below!

Good tips!

πŸ”₯ Fire Up the Grill, Not an Emergency! πŸ”

Backyard cookouts are one of the best parts of summer. Before you light the grill, take a few simple steps to help keep your family, friends, and home safe.

Key Reminders:

β€’ Keep grills at least 10 feet from homes and anything that can burn.
β€’ Never leave a hot grill unattended.
β€’ Keep children and pets at least 3 feet from the grill.
β€’ Cook food to safe temperatures using a food thermometer.
β€’ Keep a fire extinguisher nearby.

A little preparation goes a long way toward keeping the focus on great food and great memories.

A portion of our county is under a level 3 out of 5 risk for wind damage. The rest of the county is under a level 2/5. Make sure you put away and/or anchor anything that could blow away easily. Be safe while driving, and keep an eye out for tree limbs and debris.

Today is National Wildland Firefighter Day. Thank you for all that you do!

"Established in 2022, NWFFD honors the dedication of wildland firefighters and support personnel. This day falls within the Week of Remembrance, providing an opportunity to renew our commitment to wildland firefighter safety while remembering those who have fallen in the line of duty." National Wildfire Coordinating Group

Thank you to all who have served to protect our homes and lands. ❀️ Our thoughts are with the wildland firefighting communities today, as so many fires continue to burn across the Southwest, and while we mourn the recent loss of three firefighters battling a fire near the CO-UT border.
