Each year 4-Hers apply and are interviewed for the position of Alcorn County 4-H Ambassador. Selected 4-Hers represent 4-H throughout the year at various events. Part of being an ambassador is learning to be a leader, and what better way to learn than from our local elected officials. During our Ambassadors' Day Out, we met with Mayor Ralph Dance, Board of Supervisors President Lowell Hinton, and Tax Assessor Sandy Mitchell. We are so grateful to each of these officials for sharing about their role in local government and helping our youth learn more about operations within our city/county. Thank you to volunteer leader Linda Laudadio for helping with our ambassador program and joining us for the day!

4-H Senior Summer Day Camp always a good time! Six youth participated in the educational and fun day. They started the day by learning steps to success. That began with a multiple intelligence survey and vision board. They then learned some pointers on time management and interviewing tips where they had the opportunity to briefly interview each other. In the second session they cooked their own lasagna pizza lunch and trifle cake dessert. During the afternoon sessions, they learned a new fine arts technique and the Pledge of Allegiance in sign language along with America skits. They later did a finale to parents showcasing what they learned in the performing arts session. Movie clips of the performances included!

One thing Alcorn County 4-Hers❤️is time with the Sharing Hearts Adult Dementia Day Care participants. We recently visited the program where 4-Hers led exercises, taught the Pledge of Allegiance using ASL, taught the 4-H Pledge, and led games. We had 7 youth attend: Katy Beene, Kelcey Beene, Liam Beene, Makinsley Kemp, Sadie Kemp, Sawyer Lyell, and Luke Nevels. Part of the 4-H Pledge is to pledge our "hands to larger service"... serving the community is a privilege for our 4-Hers! Thank you to Mrs. Lanell Coln for allowing us to visit!
