EAA Chapter 494

We held our May Young Eagles Flight Event yesterday and the weather was great for flying. 26 young people got a chance to ride in a general aviation aircraft and get exposed to a possible career path. We also introduced 3 of our 5 scholarship winners for 2026. Our next scholarship period will open up later this year. Our next YE event will be announced here and in the YE Event Calendar at

If anyone is available tomorrow night (Wednesday night) and waves to fly to Gillespie for this meeting, please check it out. This is about reopening the Agua Caliente airport. The RAF presented tonight next door at flabob and made us aware of what's going on around Southern California. They're fighting for the Santa Monica airport too.
