Every spring, Congress takes an annual recess between late March and early April. Most senators and representatives return home, spending time in their districts alongside constituents. Because this is a prime time for face-to-face interactions, CCLers make an extra effort to drop off information and constituent letters.

Throughout his career, Hafsted has spent considerable time researching the environmental and economic impacts of carbon taxes, cap-and-trade programs, clean energy standards, and gasoline taxes. (Yes, we're confident he'll fit right in at CCL!)

Even though CCL’s focus is advancing federal climate action, there’s nothing like a local stewardship event to remind us what we’re working to protect 🌳 Recently, Chicagoland Citizens' Climate Lobby partnered with the Chicago Parks District to support a native plant initiative on Northerly Island. More than 20 volunteers pitched in to remove the last of the plants' protective cages and prep branches and logs for the island's nature play space for children.
Way to go Chi-towners!
