Our WOE Dazzling Bears Dance Team finished their final days of their Summer Marching Auxiliary Dance Camp (June 23-June 25)! The girls finished strong on their last day and showcased their skills to their families! The entire team earned a Superior rating (the highest rating) for their Grand Champion Evaluation Dance and took home blue ribbons✨👏🏼

We are so proud of the team! They all showed so much growth from the beginning of camp to the end! We are looking forward to our upcoming dance season! It will be so exciting! All we can say now is…the Dazzling Bears are ready! ✨🖤❤️🤍🐻

5th grade students participated in the PLTW course “Infection Detection.” 🦠

Students were randomly assigned to be medical examiners, regular sick, or infected with the mysterious disease. Medical examiners had to investigate based off a list of symptoms and their observations to determine how sick their patients were👩🏽‍⚕️👨🏽‍⚕️

Students were also grouped up to investigate common areas of the classroom to check if there were “germs” (simulated with Glo-germ lotion). They used UV flashlights to uncover the area and had to measure how long or short the infected area was🔦

Lastly, we closed out the course by doing a handwashing investigation to test which was more effective in cleaning our hands: plain water, soap & water, or hand sanitizer! 🧼 🙌🏽
