Another day comes and goes and the fish keep calling. Sunday 1 April the fish are around San Jose Island areas. We are taking some off shore poles just in case it is ultra flat to hunt some big reds and Mahi Mahi off shore. We plan of fishing in the Lydia Ann Channel and the wreck of the SS Worthington of 415 ft in length. Then work our way north to Mud Island with it's grass flats and hard sand bottom. The Babes on the Bay Fishing Tournament is just a few weeks away and the ladies are getting prepared

Today was an odd fishing day in that we didn't catch any keepers. :-( It was a sunny day with low wind. We started out the day by entering Emmords Hole area around marker 130. We drifted and trolled some and worked the shoreline on the hunt for some good specs....and....nothing. The water was extremely murky. wondering if there is some kind of algae bloom in the area. we then headed over to our favorite spot by the Boat Hole, tried everything. Nothing. Then worked the shoreline along the intracoastal and the channel as well. Only caught undersize trout. Headed over to the Packary Channel and anchored by the jetties. Used live mullet and piggy perch for bait and still nothing. Hmmm....
Well, the day all in all was beautiful and relaxing. Really enjoyed hanging out with good friends and just chilling. We will be at it again next weekend with a full arsenal ready!
