You do not want to miss at ! This is a semi autobiographical musical about the early life of Alicia Keys. She was involved in the making of this musical every step of the way and hand picked every single person on stage. Using some of her greatest hits and additional songs she wrote for the show, my millennial heart was soaring ❤️

Here are some similarities between Alicia Keys’ real life and the life of 17 year old Ali:

- she grew up in the Manhattan Towers Apartments where this musical takes place. Hell’s Kitchen is the artists district of New York which is where she spent her early life.

- like Ali, she was also raised by a single white mom who worked as a lawyer to afford to live in Manhattan.

- while Ali learned how to play piano at 17, Alicia Keys learned much earlier in life. Her real life mentor was also part of the Broadway run!

This is such a beautiful story told through color, dance, and song. I loved all the 90s fashion that was incorporated into the costume design! Hell’s Kitchen will be at through June 21. It will not be going to at this time, but it will also be in in August!
