“I’ve been in the district since fall 2020. I was a nurse, but hospitals are a lot, and for years I was a stay-at-home mom. And then, I came back as a one-day week secretary. Then I started subbing as a nurse, then I applied last year. I like being here with Sam. Even when I’m working full-time, I still see her. She’s going away soon, but while she’s home, I like knowing she's a part of my workday. I could never do that in the hospital. It definitely makes me happier - I’ve got some of my home life here. The hospital scene isn’t looking too great, I don’t have any concrete plans. Stuff comes into my head all the time. There's lots of new nursing jobs that didn't exist when I started. So who knows. There's so much variety. You think you’re going to do one thing, then you end up where you end up.”
