Our next Volunteer Orientation will be held on Saturday, July 20th from 9:30–10:30 AM.

At orientation, you'll learn:

• The many ways volunteers support animals and our community
• Available volunteer opportunities
• What to expect as you get started

Whether you're interested in spending time with animals, helping at events, assisting guests, or supporting behind-the-scenes operations, there's a place for you at MHS.

Every volunteer makes a difference—and it all starts with orientation. We can't wait to meet you!

Meet Duke!

If you're looking for a big dog with an even bigger heart, Duke might just be your perfect match!

Duke is a 2-year-old Mastiff mix who is as sweet and lovable as they come. This handsome guy loves being around people and is a champion leaner, if you're standing nearby, don't be surprised when Duke gently leans into you for some extra affection. He may be a big boy, but he often forgets just how large he is!

Duke is ready to trade shelter life for a home of his own where he can share his love, cuddles, and goofy personality every day.

Come meet Duke and see if this gentle giant is the missing piece of your family! We're open Monday–Friday from noon to 6 PM and Saturday from 11 AM to 5 PM.

Join us on Sunday, August 9th at Iowa Western Community College for a day filled with incredible vehicles, family fun, raffles, food, vendors, and support for the animals at Midlands Humane Society.

This year, we're excited to welcome motorcycles for the very first time, alongside all your favorite vehicle classes and activities.

And that's not all...

One lucky raffle winner will take home a beautiful 2016 Harley-Davidson Freewheeler, generously donated in memory of Sheree Pelton, whose love for animals continues to make a difference through this incredible gift.
